Credentialing Technologists for Over 45 Years

Resources

What is the difference between ASET and ABRET?

ASET is the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists. It is the professional membership (trade) organization for END Technologists. ASET provides continuing education, educational resources, an annual convention, webinars, and other services for technologists, including maintenance of the ACE Credit Program. Please visit their website for more information, www.aset.org.

ABRET is the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists. ABRET is a national credentialing board, not a membership society. ABRET manages four credentials, R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and two Laboratory Accreditation Programs (LAB-EEG and LAB-NIOM).

ABRET recognizes the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists, Inc. (ASET) as a leader in electroneurodiagnostic technology, as a resource for educational materials in electroneurodiagnostics, and as the premier membership organization for the profession. ABRET does not sponsor or endorse specific educational courses, workshops, or materials for board preparation prepared by a third party.

Although ABRET does acknowledge the importance of meetings, workshops, and other educational tools for board preparation, it is not responsible for the content of the programs or materials. Candidates are urged to review the candidate material provided by ABRET for specific exam requirements. Practice Exams may be purchased through the ABRET Executive Office.
