Testing Locations

Computer Based Testing (CBT)

In partnership with the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), ABRET offers written EEG, EP, CNIM, and CLTM exams at LaserGrade testing centers throughout the US and Canada.

LaserGrade is the largest US owned and operated computer-based testing network in North America. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, LaserGrade offers proctored computer-based test administration for occupational and professional licensure and certification, IT certification, and the Federal Aviation Administration, using its own secure network and software.

Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), based in New York, was founded in 1983 to provide professional organizations of all sizes with quality psychometric services. Over the years PTC has expanded its range of services to include certification and licensure testing, self assessment, international testing, psychometric counseling, and statistical analysis services.

The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) is the credentialing board for EEG, Evoked Potential, and Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring Technologists. ABRET has been credentialing technologists for over 45 years.

Procedure

The examinations will be administered during established two-week testing periods on a daily basis, Monday through Saturday (excluding holidays) at LaserGrade Computer Testing, Inc. LaserGrade has several hundred computer-based testing sites in the United States. Scheduling is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. To locate the center closest to your location, please visit www.lasergrade.com.  If you are testing outside the US you will need to complete and submit an ABRET Candidates testing Outside the US and Parts of Canada Special Request Form at least 6-8 weeks before your testing session begins.

Hours and days of availability vary at different centers. Please note that you will not be able to schedule your examination appointment until you have received an Eligibility Notice from PTC.

If you do not receive an Eligibility Notice or other correspondence at least three weeks before the beginning of the testing period, call the Professional Testing Corporation:  212-356-0660.

If you need to cancel your examination appointment or reschedule to a different date within the testing period you must contact LaserGrade at 800-211-2754 no later than noon, Eastern Standard Time of the second business day PRIOR to your scheduled appointment.

There are no refunds for this examination. If you fail to arrive for your appointment or do not reschedule within the same testing period, you will forfeit your testing fee.
