Exams
The Houston exam has 45 candidates. We will be running five rooms in each section.  All examiner spots have been filled.

We have two regional labs scheduled in the next few weeks.  I anticipate that we will award R. EEG T. #5000 very soon.

There are approximately 400 candidates registered for the February written exams. This is slightly lower than usual, and presumably due to eligibility changes, i.e. requirement for documenting 150-200 EEGs and earning ACE credits..

Recertifications went fairly smoothly, although the bulk of the 400 came in paper form and required hand-processing.  We hope next year our certificants will utilize Credential Manager.  Those expiring in 2012 have until January 31st to submit late reaccreditation documents.  I will have some final numbers for you after the first of the month.

NCCA
Our 450 page CNIM reaccreditation self study will be submitted to NCCA by January 31st.

We have responded to the request for additional information for the R. EP T. and CLTM applications which were completed and submitted in 2012.  Most of the requests had to do with psychometrics.  One of our psychomatricians told me that when the program is run well, that’s all they have to pick on.  I say, let’s go with that!

Executive Committee
We had an orientation and meeting of the new executive committee last week. It was very productive. The group interviewed three people for the Certification Programs Manager position. I anticipate a decision soon.

LAB
LAB-EEG remains busy and will soon surpass 100 accredited EEG labs.  LAB-LTM has received three new applications.  LAB-NIOM will meet in Miami during ACNS on February 8th.

Marketing
Lisa will be joining the ASET/ABRET joint marketing committee.

I am investigating a direct marketing piece promoting ABRET and LAB.

We are interviewing website management companies this month.

I will have a display table at ACNS next month and at AAN in March.  All paperwork and orders are complete.

We may need to invest in a new window shade display for the LAB programs.

Finance
2012 was a very good year for ABRET, in spite of some large expenses and lower candidate numbers.  Income exceeded expenses by over $100,000.  I know at our last board meeting there was some concern that expenses exceeded income by $1,000 on the August statement.

We opened another CD last week to pull $100,000 of the $450,000 we had sitting in our checking account.  Rates are low, so we only invested for 24 months.

W-2′s, 1099′s, 4th quarter payroll taxes and foreign corporation reports are all being processed this week.

Other
I have developed a survey for autonomic testing professionals that will be sent out to our contact list in the next two weeks.

ACMEGS has requested an update on our work with the MEG Technologists.  I will give a short presentation at their meeting in Miami.

Planning will soon begin on ABRET’s 50th Anniversary Party that will take place in 2014.

Please let me know if you have any questions about our Houston meetings and exams.
