Senior Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technologist - Irvine, CA

Salary Starting between: $24.78-27.82-30.85/Hr.

This position may be filled as a Senior EEG Tech or Principal EEG Tech, depending on qualifications. Sign-on bonus eligible: $3,000.00.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, incumbent provides expertise required for electroencephalograph testing, telemetry testing, evoked potential testing, brainmap testing and surgical monitoring.

EEG Technician Intra-OP - Rhode Island Hospital

Prepares the patient, conducts electroencephalograph examinations, collects information and prepares impressions of findings to assist physicians in evaluating and diagnosing cerebral conditions by recording the brain’s electrical activity.  Monitors EEG activity of patients under local or general anesthesia.  Performs EVP procedures and a full range of EEG diagnostic tests.

Requirements:

  • Completion of post-high one or two year accredited program in EE technology, including completion of clinical affiliation.
  • 2+ years experience performing full range of EEG and EVP procedures, including experience in intraoperative setting.
  • Eligibility to sit for written examination for formal registration by the ABRET within three years.
  • Knowledge of EEG/EVP techniques and equipment and of pathological disorders directly affecting the brain and other medical conditions indirectly causing brain dysfunction.

PREFERRED:

Two years experience with carotid procedures in OR setting.

    Senior Neurophysiology Technologist - Jacksonville, Florida

    Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Epilepsy Center -  Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

    Mayo Clinic’s campus in Florida is a tertiary care teaching institution located on the east coast of north Florida.  We are seeking a qualified Video EEG Technologist to function as a senior technologist in our level 5-bed EMU that evaluates complex epilepsy patients from all over the world.  Mayo Clinic was ranked #1 by “America’s Best Hospitals” in U.S. News & World Report in 2009-2010.

    Duties include:

    • Performing surface-based and invasive video-EEG monitoring for a progressively new hospital-based epilepsy monitoring unit that is dedicated to evaluating patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. A close working relationship with ABCN/ABPN board-certified neurologists/epileptologists is expected in our NAEC level 4 epilepsy center.
    • Intraoperative EEG and evoked potential motor strip mapping during placement of invasive electrodes and during Ecog under the supervision of our clinical neurophysiologists.
    • Participate as part of the epilepsy team for neurosurgical procedures requiring Wada testing, electrical stimulation for functional mapping, and coordinating nuclear medicine and nursing for additional testing in the EMU and NICU.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Must have an associates degree and have graduated from an accredited END school
    • 2-4 years related work experience with digital-computerized equipment.
    • REEGT and CLTM or CNIM certification required (or CNIM board-eligible with expectations to obtain credentials within 2 years).  Preference will be given to those with multiple registries.
    • Candidates should have advanced training and neuroscience understanding, be familiar with epilepsy classification and ictal EEG, and have a passion for high-level achievement.
