Evoked Potential Written Examination

Current Requirements
The Registration Examination for Evoked Potential (EP) Technologists is designed and written for those health care professionals who are trained and currently practicing EP technology.
Candidates must meet the following requirements by the application deadline:
1.    Education & Training
a.    be enrolled as a current student, or a graduate of a CAAHEP* Accredited END  Program, OR
b.    have a minimum of an associate degree and one year of experience in electroneurodiagnostics (may be a combination of EEG, EP, PSG, IOM), OR
c.    be trained on the job and have a minimum of three years of experience in END  (may be a combination of EEG, EP, PSG, IOM), OR
d.    previously registered in Evoked Potentials, and taking for recertification no more than one year prior to expiration of credential.  Self assessment is no longer an option.
Technologists who were previously registered in EP, and are taking the exam to reinstate a lapsed credential must meet all current eligibility requirements, and submit all required documentation.
2.    All candidates must have a current CPR card.  A copy of the CPR card, or proof of  hands-on CPR training, must  accompany the application.
Complete and submit an Application for the Registration Examination in Evoked Potential Technology along with the required fee only after the above has been met and appropriately documented. Applications received after the stated deadline may not be processed.

Candidate Handbooks for the 2010 testing sessions will be available at www.ptcny.com in December 2009.
